The Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association

The Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association (HKISPA) has as its mission to discuss issues, promote development and promulgate policy that affects Internet usage, and to establish a code of practice for the association’s members.

The association has confirmed that it is aware of transparency issues, and its members are reportedly working on establishing a means of tracking Government information requests they have received. The details of this plan have yet to be made public.

It is hoped that ISPs and their associations will see value in full transparency, along the lines of Google’s Transparency Report, which, among other things, would protect the ISP’s from potential legal problems.
