Threatened Harbor: Encroachments on Press Freedom in Hong Kong

PEN American Center quoted Hong Kong Transparency Report’s advocacy for government and corporate accountability in handling user data in its newly released report, highlighting threats to privacy and free expression online.

Jennifer Zhang, the project manager of the Hong Kong Transparency Report, wrote an op-ed in the South China Morning Post highlighting the ease with which Hong Kong government officials can obtain online bloggers’ personal data and calling on government agencies and internet companies to enact safeguards for protecting online speech.
